The kitchen is a vital room in your home. It’s the heart of the house and the stomach. However, remodeling this space for the new year can be daunting. You can’t just update your kitchen with a throw blanket or a cocktail table. A bold backsplash can be beautiful, but it takes time and money.
You can refresh your kitchen by painting the cabinets with a new color. This is an easy and cost-effective way to update your cooking space. You can transform your kitchen’s look by painting it with a classic white or something more modern. The most trendy color is still up for debate. Although personal preferences will determine the final decision, it is essential to choose a color that complements the rest of your kitchen decor. It’s critical to pick a color you will not tire of, as the kitchen is the most used area. We asked a few of the most prominent designers to share their top kitchen cabinet colors for 2023. The following list is the equivalent of a chef’s kiss.
Trends may change, but one thing is sure: “In 2023, neutral color palettes within the kitchen are here for a stay,” designer Noelle Isbell explained. A neutral background can be used as a foundation for the space.
But here’s the catch. The catch? Designers will switch from bright, papery shades to more prosperous, subtle colors in the new year. Houzz’s 2023 Home Design Trend Predictions predict that greiges will be dominant. They’ll also look great with muted patterns, light wood grains, and tiles.
Blank Canvas might have been the go-to white for Behr and the company’s 2023 Color of The Year — but designer Erin Sander prefers a color with a subtle yellow undertone. Her choice? Benjamin Moore’s Simply White is a perfect choice, as it “marries the juxtaposition between bright and soft accents perfectly while contrasting with the wood.”
Indigomaven Interiors’ Monica Guarnaschelli owes Sherwin Williams’s Gossamer Veil its chameleonlike hue. She explains that the color changes from beige to gray to white throughout the day, with just enough saturation to be interesting. “Yet, [it] remains a calm neutral, even in chaotic kitchens.”
Warm neutrals will be in fashion for 2023, but stark white kitchens won’t. Many designers are now looking at the opposite side of the color spectrum to shake up the status quo. A New York City-based designer, Phillip Thomas, points out that kitchens are becoming more like extensions to entertaining spaces. They need a glamorous backdrop!
For the perfect dose of goes-with-anything-glamour, Thomas reaches for black, a shade that’s equal parts practical and pretty. He shares that black is especially significant in smaller kitchens. “While most people wouldn’t choose a darker color in a smaller space than they would like, it tricks the eyes into believing the space is larger.”
This color should be light enough. Designer David Frazier considers Benjamin Moore’s Mopboard Black a staple. He says that the Mopboard Black is neutral and can be used in any kitchen style, but it also creates depth and richness that’s difficult to achieve with lighter colors.
